OpenAI announces frontier AI service “Daybreak” for cyber defense

OpenAI launched Daybreak, a cyber defense program built to help security teams secure software with AI-assisted review and remediation workflows.

The initiative combines frontier models, Codex, and partner security expertise for secure coding, threat analysis, patch validation, detection, and remediation.

Daybreak will be offered in multiple model tiers based on use and access level, with requests handled through OpenAI.

The program is aimed at countering rising AI-enabled cyber threats by strengthening security across the development cycle.
