"Gemini in Chrome" lands in Japan, with "Ask Gemini" available in the side panel

Google has started rolling out Gemini in Chrome across Japan and many other regions.

Users can open the side panel from the upper-right Gemini button to summarize, compare, and draft emails based on the current page and multiple tabs.

The update brings AI help directly into the browser, making everyday search, reading, and writing tasks easier to finish in one place.

Some capabilities may be broader on Gemini Advanced or certain devices such as Chromebook Plus.
