SKT traced the server of the malicious app attacker, preventing 20.3 billion won in subscriber losses

SK Telecom analyzed malware samples obtained by police and identified 390 attacker C2 servers.

Using that intelligence, it blocked additional financial losses for 403 customers infected with malicious apps.

The company said the operation helped prevent about 20.3 billion won in damage and broader identity theft and phishing attacks.

The case highlights effective coordination between telecom operators and police, as well as AI-based security response.
