You can now turn 2D apps into 3D while using the Galaxy XR headset

Android XR gains an experimental auto-spatialization feature that converts 2D apps, websites, images, and videos into 3D experiences on Galaxy XR headsets.

The feature launches Tuesday as an experimental option for Samsung Galaxy XR; Google first announced it last year.

Auto-spatialization supports content up to 1080p at 30fps and only affects the app window currently in focus.

Google says the feature uses slightly more battery and could make viewing in the headset more immersive.

Google also announced other Android XR updates: pin apps to walls, see your real hands in home space, resume apps after removing the device, and there are now over 100 XR apps on Google Play.
