This robot changes tires faster than any mechanic, without even removing the wheel

Boston startup Automated Tire introduced SmartBay, an AI-powered robotic system for tire service.

Using computer vision and machine learning, SmartBay can mount tires, balance wheels, and inspect vehicles without human intervention.

The company says the system can finish jobs faster than mechanics and plans to lease it to auto businesses for $4,900 a month.
