Botnet of more than 17 million devices dismantled

Dutch police and the National Cyber Security Center dismantled a botnet of more than 17 million devices.

The network was operated through about 200 servers, which were seized and taken offline in the Netherlands.

A security researcher first exposed the operation, helping investigators trace its infrastructure.

Reports linked the botnet to ASOCKS, a Russia-based residential proxy provider.
