China’s new BYD EV claims 590-mile drive on single charge with 130 kWh battery

BYD plans to launch the Great Tang SUV in China this May with BEV and PHEV variants.

The BEV rear-wheel-drive model uses a 130.15 kWh Blade Battery and claims up to 590 miles of range.

An AWD version makes 585 kW, does 0–62 mph in 3.9 seconds and is rated up to 528 miles.

The SUV includes rear-wheel steering and DiSus-A dual-chamber air suspension for a 17.1-foot turning radius.

Both BEV and PHEV versions have applied for sales approval in China ahead of the market debut.
