Claude Opus 5 launches with similar performance as Fable 5 for ‘half the price’

Anthropic has launched Claude Opus 5 as the successor to Opus 4.8.

The company says it matches Fable 5 on many benchmark results while costing roughly half as much.

Anthropic says Opus 5 is especially strong in business workflows, computer use, and agentic research.

Fable 5 still leads in some advanced cybersecurity and biology tasks.

Opus 5 is now available across all platforms.
