Broadcom releases Wi-Fi 8 chip…improves roaming stability

Broadcom unveiled three Wi‑Fi 8 router chips — BCM6772, BCM6774, and BCM6776 — designed to improve connection quality, roaming stability, and power efficiency.

The new chips increase antenna counts and integrate more components on-chip, aiming to cut cost while boosting performance for mesh and larger-area networks.

Broadcom also introduced the BCM68850 PON gateway processor and has begun shipping the new products to initial customers.

The launch could help speed up commercialization of next-generation wireless equipment with more stable roaming and better efficiency.
