Apple Sets Privacy Rules for Third-Party Access to Live Activities and Notifications

Apple added Live Activities forwarding in the iOS 26.5 beta and updated its developer agreement with new rules.

Section 3.3.3 (J) bans using forwarded notification data for advertising, profiling, model training, or location monitoring.

Developers cannot store or decrypt forwarded notifications off the accessory, alter forwarded data, or share encryption keys.

Apple may forward an app's notifications to a third-party accessory if the user enables the feature.
