Report: Intel Is Testing Production of Some iPhone, iPad, and Mac Chips

Intel is reportedly testing small-scale production of some lower-end Apple chips using its 18A process.

The chips in question could include Apple-designed processors for iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices.

TSMC is still expected to remain Apple’s main chip supplier for now.

If the plan moves forward, Apple could diversify its supply chain, cut costs, and boost U.S.-based manufacturing.
