GM Looks To Make Engineering Gains With New F1 Team

General Motors says its new Cadillac Formula One team will be a proving ground for engineering gains from racing.

The team will make its U.S. debut at the Miami Grand Prix and is currently running Ferrari-supplied engines.

GM plans to develop its own F1 power units by the end of the decade.

The move gives GM a high-profile testbed for vehicle technology and a major entry into F1 as U.S. interest grows.
