US scientists are building autonomous robots that can learn directly from researchers

Argonne National Laboratory is developing RoSA, an AI-powered robotic assistant for laboratory automation.

RoSA learns procedures from scientists, then uses AI and robotic platforms to mimic tasks and adapt to changing conditions.

After simulation testing, the system is meant to support automated experiments in real labs.

If successful, it could make lab work faster, safer, and more consistent while improving U.S. research productivity.
