Magic: The Gathering likely to get a World of Warcraft set with D&D crossover

Wizards of the Coast’s Gen Con reveal of a D&D: World of Warcraft crossover has made a Magic: The Gathering World of Warcraft Universes Beyond set look highly likely.

The report says Wizards is expected to announce more Universes Beyond Magic sets later this year, with one slot likely going to Marvel and another possibly to a fantasy-friendly IP like World of Warcraft.

The move would extend the company’s long-running Magic-and-D&D crossover playbook and show how far the Universes Beyond line may reach into core fantasy brands.

It also raises questions about market overlap with other card games, including Star Wars: Unlimited.
