Apple to Issue Rare iOS 18 Update to Fix DarkSword Exploit

Apple will release an iOS 18 security update to protect devices from the DarkSword exploit.

Devices running iOS 26 already include protections against DarkSword, but Apple is backporting fixes for iOS 18 users.

Apple said users with automatic updates enabled will receive the update, and others can install it via Settings > Software Update.

Google reported DarkSword has been used to target iPhones in several countries and the exploit kit was posted to GitHub last week.
