‘Mormon Mafia’ Conspiracy Trends Online After YouTuber Investigating $200,000 Lego Collection Dispute Flees To Mexico Following Arrest

YouTuber Reckless Ben was investigating a disputed $200,000 Lego Star Wars collection when he was arrested in Utah, later released on bail, and then hit with a new no-bail warrant.

The dispute involves Bryan Mansell’s family accusing Bricks & Minifigs owners Joshua Johnson and Brandon Best of wrongfully taking the collection.

During Ben’s attempts to confront them, police repeatedly stopped his team, searched his car after a heroin tip, and arrested him following an Airbnb search.

After the new warrant was issued, Ben left for Mexico as the case went viral online.

The story has also fueled unverified “Mormon Mafia” claims tying local police, the business owners, and the LDS Church.
