Anthropic launches advisor tool for Claude API users

Anthropic has launched an advisor tool for the Claude API, letting developers use Opus as a high-level guide while Sonnet or Haiku handle execution.

The feature is publicly available and can be enabled directly in Messages API requests.

Early evaluations show stronger performance on benchmarks such as SWE-bench Multilingual, BrowseComp, and Terminal-Bench 2.0 at lower cost.

That makes it easier to build capable AI agents without paying frontier-model prices for every step.
