Google’s new AI gives robots better balance, smarter hands, and teamwork capabilities

Google DeepMind unveiled Gemini Robotics 2, an AI system for whole-body robot control, better dexterity, and multi-robot coordination.

It also introduced Gemini Robotics ER 2, a reasoning model, plus an on-device variant designed for faster adaptation in the field.

The company launched a new safety benchmark, ASIMOV-Agentic, to better evaluate robot safety across different designs.

Together with partners like Apptronik on Apollo 2, the system aims to make robots more capable and reliable in real-world environments.
