Finally, Artemis delivers some exceptional, high-quality photos of the Moon

Artemis II flew within about 4,067 miles (6,545 km) of the Moon during its flyby and photographed the surface.

The crew captured high-resolution images of the lunar terminator, eclipse transition, and Earthset from Orion.

Astronauts said cameras struggled to reproduce the visual experience, but the mission returned unique, higher-resolution views similar to Apollo 8 Earthrise.

The spacecraft is returning to Earth and is scheduled to splash down off the coast of California on Friday evening.
