OpenAI's Codex Now Works in Chrome With New Extension

OpenAI launched Codex for Chrome, a browser extension for web-based coding work on Macs and PCs.

The extension lets Codex test web apps, use multiple tabs, and access DevTools without taking over the browser.

OpenAI says the move responds to heavy use of browser workflows and aims to make Codex more useful for everyday work.

The company also said Codex now has more than 4 million weekly active users, up 8x since the start of the year.
