Pangea 5: TotalEnergies unveils AI supercomputer with 6x computing power

TotalEnergies will build Pangea 5, a new AI supercomputer with Dell Technologies and NVIDIA for its Pau, France site, targeted for 2027.

The system will deliver roughly six times more computing power than today’s setup, supporting seismic imaging, subsurface simulation, and AI research.

TotalEnergies says Pangea 5 will be more energy-efficient than earlier systems and will reuse waste heat.

The project reflects how energy companies are using advanced computing to improve exploration and industrial modeling while cutting energy use.
