Microsoft’s executive shake-up continues as developer division chief resigns

Julia Liuson is resigning from Microsoft after 34 years; she led the developer division for 12 years.

She will remain head of DevDiv through the end of June, then move to an advisory role reporting to CoreAI chief Jay Parikh.

Microsoft acquired GitHub for $7.5 billion; GitHub’s leadership now reports to the CoreAI team following Thomas Dohmke’s departure.

Recent senior exits include Phil Spencer (announced retirement in February), Sarah Bond (resigned), and Rajesh Jha (announced retirement last month).

Mustafa Suleyman was appointed last month and is focusing on Microsoft’s internal AI models rather than consumer Copilot features.
