BYD Confirms Humanoid Robot Push with Seventh-Generation 'Yao-Shun-Yu' Project Targeting 4S Stores and Homes

BYD says it is developing humanoid robots in-house under its seventh-generation Yao-Shun-Yu project.

The first planned use is in overseas 4S dealership showrooms, especially in Europe, where robots would greet customers, demo products, and support sales in multiple languages.

BYD later envisions home-use robots for chores, meal prep, and companionship.

The company says its EV manufacturing and software strengths could help it scale robotics quickly and compete in a market with uneven AI and hardware capabilities.
