China Surpasses the US, Accounting for Two-Thirds of Global LLM Calls, as Xiaomi MiMo-V2.5 Ranks First Worldwide in Weekly and Monthly Token Usage

Chinese AI models captured 63.5% of global LLM inference usage in the 28 days to July 26, versus 35.5% for U.S. models.

Xiaomi’s MiMo-V2.5 led all models with 10.5 trillion weekly tokens and 31.2 trillion monthly tokens.

The top five models by usage were all Chinese, underscoring China’s growing lead in real-world AI adoption.

MiMo-V2.5’s weekly token volume jumped from 1.46 trillion in May to 10.46 trillion in July after its April public beta launch.
