An electric air taxi just flew from JFK to Manhattan in under 10 minutes

Joby Aviation began 10 days of electric air taxi demonstration flights in New York City under the FAA’s eVTOL Integration Pilot Program.

The tests included trips from JFK Airport to Manhattan in under 10 minutes, showcasing vertical takeoff-and-landing urban travel.

The flights are meant to prove the aircraft can operate safely and efficiently in dense city airspace.

Joby is still pursuing FAA certification and aims to begin passenger service in 2026.
