The Engineering Behind CATL’s 30-Second EV Charging Battery Breakthrough

CATL’s Shenzhing Version 3 EV battery is reported to add 100 km of range in 30 seconds and fully charge in about six minutes.

The battery is said to keep 90% of its capacity after 1,000 fast-charge cycles, suggesting strong durability under heavy use.

Lower internal resistance, improved materials, and advanced thermal management are credited for the speed and lifespan gains.

If verified, the breakthrough could cut charging delays and make EVs more practical for long-distance and cold-weather driving.
