Nintendo President Wants to ‘Enhance the Switch 2 Ownership Value’ to Make Up for Console Price Increase

Nintendo will raise the U.S. price of Switch 2 from $449 to $499 on September 1.

President Shuntaro Furukawa apologized for the increase and said Nintendo will improve the console’s ownership value.

The company plans to do that by expanding its software lineup with upcoming and rumored games.

Nintendo is trying to offset concern over the higher price by strengthening the system’s appeal through game support.
