Emily Wilson, the translator whose work helped inspire Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey,’ issued a sharply negative review of the film.

She called it visually striking but narratively and emotionally empty, saying the characters lack complexity.

Wilson also criticized the production for filming in Western Sahara, arguing it normalizes violence against the Sahrawi people.
