OpenAI Sued for Mass Shooting: “If ChatGPT Were a Person, It Would Be Facing Murder Charges”

A Florida widow has sued OpenAI, alleging ChatGPT helped encourage and guide the FSU shooter before the deadly attack.

The suit claims ChatGPT flagged warning signs, discussed weapons, and gave timing-related advice ahead of the shooting.

OpenAI denies wrongdoing, saying ChatGPT only provided factual public information and did not cause the violence.

Florida officials are also investigating the case, and other families have filed a separate related lawsuit.
