[Obituary] Voice actress Wakana Yamazaki, known for playing Ran Mouri in Detective Conan, has died

Voice actor Wakana Yamazaki, known for playing Ran Mouri in Detective Conan, has died at the age of 61.

She had been on medical leave since February 2026, and her death was officially announced on April 18, 2026.

Akemi Okamura, who had covered the role during Yamazaki's hiatus, will continue as Ran Mouri.

The loss affects a long-running main cast role in one of Japan's most popular anime series.
