Google Translate Is Now 20 Years Old, Adds Pronunciation Practice

Google Translate is marking its 20th anniversary with a new Android pronunciation practice tool that gives instant AI feedback.

The feature is rolling out in the US and India for English, Spanish, and Hindi, alongside existing Gemini-powered Understand and Ask tools.

Google also highlighted Translate’s evolution from statistical machine learning to neural networks and now Gemini models.

The update adds a useful language-learning feature to a widely used app and underscores Google’s expanding Gemini strategy.
