WhatsApp Tests Read-Triggered Disappearing Messages

WhatsApp is testing a new disappearing-messages option in beta.

The timer starts only after a recipient reads the message, not when it is sent.

Standard duration choices include 5 minutes, 1 hour, and 12 hours.

The feature could give users more control over retention, privacy, and storage.
