An EU country will be the first to offer ChatGPT Plus free for a year: first, you’ll have to take a two-hour course

Malta has launched a national AI access program with OpenAI and Microsoft.

Eligible residents can get one year of free ChatGPT Plus or Microsoft 365 Personal Copilot.

To qualify, they must first complete the two-hour online course “AI for Everyone” on basic concepts, limits, and responsible use.

The initiative will be managed by the Malta Digital Innovation Authority and sits within OpenAI for Countries.

Officials hope the model will boost digital adoption and serve as a template for other EU countries.
