Foiled plot tried to sneak 49 lbs of cocaine into Australia via Xerox printers

Australian authorities found 22.4 kg of cocaine hidden inside five Xerox printers shipped to Melbourne in 2017.

Police and border officials replaced the drugs, tracked the consignment to Airport West, and later arrested four men.

Three of the men have now been sentenced to prison, while one was acquitted.

The case highlights how organized crime uses ordinary shipping channels and how border agencies disrupt those schemes.
