Gemini for Android Auto reverting to Assistant in bizarre bug, Google is aware

A bug in Android Auto 16.7 is reverting some Gemini users back to Google Assistant.

Reports in Google’s support forum suggest the issue affects multiple users, not just a single device.

A temporary workaround is to switch to Google Assistant in settings and then re-enable Gemini.

Google has acknowledged the problem, but has not shared a fix timeline yet.
