Googlebooks Are the Android-Based Evolution of the Chromebook

Google confirmed Googlebooks, a new laptop platform built on Android instead of ChromeOS.

The new system adds tighter Android phone integration, app access from phones, file-browser shortcuts, widget dashboards, and a Gemini-powered Magic Pointer.

Google says more details and hardware will arrive later this year, with launch devices from Acer, ASUS, Lenovo, Dell, and HP.

The move signals Google’s push toward a new premium laptop ecosystem centered on Android and AI.
