RFK Jr. rewrites CDC panel's charter, opening door to anti-vaccine quacks

Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. renewed and revised the CDC’s ACIP charter.

The updated charter adds language on vaccine injury, cumulative effects of vaccine components, and tighter scrutiny of mRNA vaccines.

It also opens the door for fringe and anti-vaccine groups to serve as advisors.

Because ACIP helps set federal vaccine guidance, the changes could affect state vaccine rules and insurance coverage.
