Preserve, Reveal, Expand: Faithful 4D Video Editing with Region-Aware Conditioning

Researchers introduced PREX, a region-aware 4D video editing framework that preserves observed content while generating missing or out-of-view scene regions more faithfully.

PREX splits a target 4D volume into Preserve, Reveal, and Expand regions, then injects calibrated appearance cues into a frozen video diffusion backbone.

The method improves preservation and control without requiring paired edited training videos, addressing common failures like ghosting and preservation drift.

The team also released PREBench, a benchmark designed to measure region-specific editing failures in 4D video editing.
