The strangest forgotten gem of Spanish television is an anime about Naranjito. And now it’s getting a re-release

VinTV will rerun Fútbol en acción on June 11, 2026, bringing back the Naranjito anime series after it disappeared from Spanish TV in 1982.

The show was a co-production of BRB Internacional and Japan’s Nippon Animation, tied to the 1982 World Cup and directed by Minoru Okazaki.

Its return revives a hard-to-see Spanish TV curiosity and one of the earliest Spain-Japan animation collaborations.
