Mercari Allows Sellers to Receive Proceeds Without Waiting for Ratings

Mercari added a feature on April 8 that lets eligible sellers receive sales proceeds without waiting for the buyer’s receiving evaluation.

Eligibility requires in-app identity verification and seller level 4 or higher; the inspection service exempts the level requirement.

Payouts become available 24 hours after delivery; with the inspection service, proceeds are released when the appraisal center judges items meet criteria.

Immediate payout limits are ¥50,000 normally and ¥100,000 when using the inspection service.

If an early payout transaction is canceled, the buyer is automatically refunded and the seller must return the amount with no fees; fraud prevention and full-amount support programs have been strengthened.
