Slate’s uber-affordable EV opens pre-orders in June, but we still don’t know the price

Slate Auto will open $300 preorders for its stripped-down electric truck on June 24, 2026.

The company also has existing $50 refundable reservations, showing strong early interest.

Slate has not revealed final pricing, after earlier hinting at a sub-$20,000 starting price that later moved into the mid-$20,000s.

That uncertainty will decide whether the truck can deliver on its low-cost, customizable EV promise.
