Chinese defense companies hint at a new long-range military sniper milestone

Two Chinese defense firms hinted that a sniper-related test may have set a new long-range shooting world record.

Chongqing Changjiang Electric Appliances Industries Group and Hunan Huanan OptoElectronic Group gave no system, range, or test-condition details.

The claim follows earlier reports that China’s CS/LR24 rifle hit five of five targets at roughly 9,898 feet with 8.6mm ammunition.

If confirmed, the result would suggest advances in Chinese precision-fire capability, though the secrecy limits independent verification.
