Steam finally solved gaming’s trickiest genre name

Valve has updated Steam’s store tags for the first time in two years, adding 17 tags, removing 27, and renaming several categories.

The biggest addition is “Bullet Heaven,” a new label for auto-attacking, upgrade-focused games inspired by Vampire Survivors.

The change should improve Steam search and discovery by making genre labels clearer and more accurate.

Other tag tweaks also affect how games like PowerWash Simulator and Warhammer Survivors are categorized.
