The union drive at the Wikimedia Foundation is expanding

US employees at the Wikimedia Foundation have joined a union drive led by UK staff.

Management declined voluntary recognition and said the next step should be a secret-ballot NLRB election.

The effort is organized with Wiki Workers United and the Communications Workers of America.

The dispute adds to tensions after recent layoffs and team changes, as Wikipedia volunteers have also voiced concerns.
