PlayStation says it's not backing down on ending physical disc

Sony Interactive Entertainment says it has no plans to reverse its decision to stop producing physical PlayStation discs.

CFO Lin Tao said the game market has shifted toward digital, and discs now account for only a small share of sales.

The move speeds PlayStation’s push toward a digital-only ecosystem, affecting ownership, resale, and collector markets.

It has also triggered fan backlash, with boycott plans already emerging.
