Naver TV to shut down after 14 years…video focus shifts to Clip and Chzzk

Naver will shut down Naver TV at 3 p.m. on Sept. 30 after 14 years of operation.

New sign-ups and channel creation stop on Sept. 3, and creator profile migration to Clips begins on Sept. 10.

Naver TV content will be folded into Clips regardless of format, while live broadcasts will move to Naver News.

Post-shutdown, transfer, download and copyright-protection features will remain available for one year.

Naver says the move is part of a strategy to focus its video business on Clips and Chzzk.
