Google accidentally published a four-year-old Chromium security bug, then tried to hide it again

Google briefly exposed an old Chromium security report, then hid it again after it surfaced publicly.

The issue, first reported in 2022, is still unfixed and may allow persistent Service Worker behavior on Chromium browsers.

A malicious site could potentially use it for long-lived tracking, payload delivery, denial of service, or botnet activity.

The risk affects Chromium-based browsers such as Chrome, Edge, Opera, and Brave, while Firefox and Safari are not affected.
