WhatsApp Plus is here, and you can safely ignore this subscription

Meta is rolling out WhatsApp Plus to a small group of iPhone users via the latest App Store version.

The subscription costs about €2.49 per month in Europe and adds themes, alternate app icons, sticker packs, custom ringtones, and higher chat-pinning limits.

Core features like messaging, calls, video, and status updates remain free and unchanged.

The limited feature set suggests WhatsApp is testing monetization, but its value may be hard to justify versus rivals that offer similar customization for free.
