Agent Registries Become The New Battleground For Cloud Giants

AWS launched Agent Registry in preview this week through Amazon Bedrock AgentCore.

Microsoft and Google Cloud are also building governance layers for enterprise AI agents, aimed at agent sprawl.

The registry is a catalog and discovery layer for agents, tools, MCP servers, agent skills, and custom resources.

Each record captures the publisher, implemented protocols, exposed services, and invocation details.

AWS says the cloud-agnostic registry supports MCP and A2A descriptors, custom schemas, review workflows, and MCP-based discovery; it is live in five regions and is not an automatic inventory.
