‘The Child Is Terrified’: Measles Doctors Speak Out

Pediatricians in Utah say they are treating children with measles complications such as pneumonia and oxygen needs.

Doctors are also struggling to persuade hesitant parents to vaccinate or quarantine exposed children.

They point to cost barriers, distrust in medicine, and misinformation from social media and politics as drivers of delayed care and vaccine refusal.

Physicians say there is no evidence linking vaccines to autism, and warn that falling trust puts both children and the wider community at risk.
